Epi-Otic is a non-irritating: incipient ear cleanser with disinfectant-based lactic acid and salicylic acid in encapsulated (spherulites) and free form and contains chitosanide and sodium docusate. It is excellent for dog and cats to soften and remove excessive wax and inflammatory material in the external ear canal.
Lactic acid has disinfectant properties (pH reduction). Salicylic acid is keratolytically active (corneal layer-induced) and therefore inflammatory and itchy-inhibiting. It has a repellent effect. Spherulites are layered microspheres that provide a delayed release of active substances and thus prolonged efficacy. Chitosanide is a degradable biopolymer that adheres to the skin and hair with spherulitis and has a moisture regulating effect. Sodium focus is surface tension reducing, thereby achieving a strong improvement in the penetrating capacity of the liquid.
